Ha

Ha! Remember the last time I actually wrote on this thing? Yeah i don't either. Well not anymore, I am back and better than ever. I don't have much to say right now but I will give you a short "Grant's Current Playlist" update.
Ryan Adams- His music is dope. He has a wonderful rock/country thing going on that blends with his voice like a delicious musical smoothie. Top that off with lyrics that just make the world make more sense.
My Top Songs- Dear Chicago, My winding wheel, and so alive

Ray La Montagne- This is your everyday normal guy turned incredible musician. He has a big raspy voice that really flows well with his accompaniment. On his latest album the use of horns and more instrumentation.
My Top Songs- Trouble, You are the best thing, Crazy

High School is over!

My last day of high school was yesterday friday May 15th. It is so weird to think I will not be attending Shawnee Mission East next year, it has gone by so fast it didnt seem like 4 years at all. I really don't know what to think right now because I do believe that my high school years have been the best of my young life so far. I can honestly say my school and my class helped shape me into who I am today. If you went back to middle school and asked me if I was going to nominated for homecoming king I would have laughed in your face, I was the biggest loser ever at Mission Valley.
Looking back I think the thing that started me out on the right foot in high school was running for stuco. I have always been an outgoing person and giving a speech infront of 500 kids of course didn't phase me. I shouldnl't have been up on that stage. I had NO idea what I was doing, I wrote my speech the night before but because of my best friend Brady Anderson and a few other specially placed helpers I won by over 200 votes. I was told it was the biggest margin of victory in a long time.
Overall I will miss high school dearly but I am ready for the next step. I think each of our
lives is like a sculpture in the works. Every life experience is like God chipping little bits off of our
stone and sculpting us into who we are suppose to be. I like to think I got a lot of chipping in high school. I would like to say thank you to eveyone who has helped me make it through. I couldn't have done it with out you!

Song of right now

Song of right now for me: Wavin' Flag- K'naan

To me this song is just an inspiration. chorus just gets me fired up everytime.
"When I get older, I will be stronger,
They'll call me freedom, just like a wavin flag."

The best part about it is actually the artist himself. He has always been clean even while touring with the Marleys. Never touched alcohol and he says he has never smoked anything. He says that he gets a natural high from his music which I can totally relate to. He is also a Simolian rapper which makes him more legit because he had to grow up while there was a war going on around him.

"All Somalis know that gangsterism isn't to brag about. The kids that I was growing up with [in Rexdale] would wear baggy [track] suit pants, and a little jacket from Zellers or something, and they'd walk into school, and all the cool kids would be like, 'Ah, man, look at these Somalis. Yo, you're a punk!' And the other kid won't say nothing, but that kid, probably, has killed fifteen people." - K'naan

Kansas Sports

Big day for the sporting in Kansas. Let me tell you all the ways!

Tony G. NOT a chief: My intial reaction to this was " WHAT!?!" followed closely with a " Who the heck is Matt Cassel suppose to throw to?" No offense to Mr. Pioli but I think the best Tight End to ever play the game of football should be worth more than a 2nd round draft pick. Plus, this leaves a gaping hole at Wide Out. Gonzo has had the most recpetions for the Chiefs since the 2003 season and guess who had more than him that season: Preist Holmes ( who shouldn't count as a wide out). Our best receiver (Dwanye Bowe) has shaky hands and has been known to drop the easy passes. I don't know unless we get some kinda crazy athelete with this pick i am a little upset.

Royals Drop 2 of 3 against Indians: This is not good news, but not the main subject of this section. What is the main subject is my fanhood. I am more into the Royals/Baseball than I have ever been.  Last year I went to a record low 1 game. I am going to break that record in the next week. I have tickets to Monday night against the Blue Jays ,and I plan on heading out to the new K early saturday to get my 40 year anniversory Jersey. Also best nickname ever "The Mexicutioner"

Xavier Henry is a Jayhawk: According to ESPN.com Xavier Henry ( pronouced: Zav-ya Henry) is a Kansas Jayhawk. Seriously, can this team get any more stacked? My prediction for next tournament time: No one touches the Jayhawks. That would leave them in a sticky situation though, if that comes true all three of the point- scorers(Cole, Sherron, Xavier) will be gone.

Disc Golf, you win some you lose some: R.I.P. "The Shark". My first ever Disc golf disc fell victim to Rosedale park today. I have had numerous moments of jubilee with that disc and more than once proclaimed my love for it out loud. While I lost one disc I gained another one. My friend Daniel and I had the experience of playing with some very friendly guys from Lawrence. One of these gentlemen got PISSED at a disc and decided it would do me better. This was the disc i recieved today. The driver I was using before was a trash compared to this disc.

Crazy day in the state of Kansas

Hey I'm Grant

This is my offcial first blog ever. So I'll just give you a run down of what this is basically going to be about.

Sports- Huge sports fan, I'll probably write most about Kansas City teams because thats what I know best. I will throw  in the occassinaly NBA, NHL, or some other random sport rant but mostly I'll stick to the basics

Music- I consider myself to be a music guru of sorts. I could probably talk all day about every different kind of music. Like right now I'm listening to some Kanye West- Slow Jamz.

Friends/Ladyfriends- I always seem to get myself in trouble in this category. This will most likely be the least talked section just because I don't like to do drama.

Random Life Events- Graduation May 20th! Big news in my life thats for sure.

Whatever else I feel like talking about- Yeah, thats about it.
